RJ Design Ltd is an established design and digital print business based in Derbyshire and will be moving their complete operation on January 1st 2008. Designed in the main by themselves, the new premises has three times their current space and is a direct reflection of the growth of the company over the last year.

From small and start-up businesses to corporate and brand business RJ Design prides itself in the variety of work they are able to deliver. As client demand rose and huge contracts were being obtained, the need for more space became paramount. The purpose-built property lies in a newly developed area of Stanton in Derbyshire; very near the M1 motorway for even better accessibility.

Rob Walker, Managing Director, worked closely with the architects as their requirements were specific. He explains, “We’re aiming for bigger and better in every way; we wanted to achieve a better work environment for our staff and production area but with enough space that can accommodate for future expansion.”

A contemporary, open plan style interior will house their offices, photography studio, design studio, a spacious meeting room containing state of the art presentation technology and a massive print production room. Services include graphic & web design, exhibition design & build, POS, POP, PR Services and Marketing communications. Established in 2001 with the aim of providing a first class design and digital print service to local companies, their reputation to deliver fresh, dynamic design and quality printing quickly grew and they now boast a client list of well over 300 businesses throughout the UK.

Julian Kitchener joins creative design and print agency, RJ Design Ltd, as their new Digital Print Production Manager. 2007 has been an extremely successful year for RJ Design and as such the company required more space and staff to meet the demands of their business. In addition to new team members the whole operation moves premises in January 2008.

Julian is responsible for all print production of the large format equipment including the Seiko Colorpainter 645, the HP Designjet 5500 and the two brand new HP Designjet Z6100 printers that were recently purchased which are all run on the latest version of Onyx. Julian’s background is firmly set in the large format print industry having started 21 years ago as a trainee on silk-screening and working his way up with the technology to be experienced in all things digital.

Kitchener explains, “I’m thrilled to be working in such a dynamic and creative environment – to be able to focus on one area of the digital production means I can streamline the process to increase production output even more – and its only going to get better once we’re in the new building!”

Following months of hard work RJ Design are delighted to announce that they have been chosen as the preferred agency for Derbyshire based The Acclaim Housing Group. Having successfully negotiated themselves onto the short list of 4, from 13 initial candidates, they were the overwhelming choice of the Acclaim panel when it came down to making their final selection.

First UK Designjet Z-6100’s Sold at Sign UK & Digital Expo
